Costume Design For Mona Mula’s “If I Fall” Music Video
This music video was biggest team I had worked with yet. I really enjoyed the collaborative-ness of it all, wether it was working with Bo Heikens - the stylist on the other two looks or talking with Hair and Make-up on set. This production was done during a National Lockdown and in short time frame, So I had to use what I already made or had in my haberdashery. The brief I was given was “a crying princess”, but it also had to have an edge to it to make sure it worked with Hip-Hop styling of the rest of the production. I was able to use the Duchess Eloise Dress from my last project with some alterations. The design aspect came in the straps which I embroidered the “If I Fall” lyric “Am I a Devil in a Dress”, in reference to Maria Grazia’s Dior couture. I felt it made it more modern and youthful and added to the “drippy/flexing” vibe of the production.
